Love this time of the year when I don’t have to layer so many clothes on and carry a big puff jacket. You can say it the island girl in me. Although it has been pretty busy with my late spring cleaning as well as with wedding engagement parties, baby showers, birthdays, and graduation all falling in the same month. It can be a little overwhelming. So we like to unwind by taking walk by the pier, Pier 39 that is. Hope your enjoying this summer season and get lots of vitamin D.
Homemade organic heart shape nachos
Sharing a little love of homemade organic corn nacho chip with ground turkey meat, potatoes and beans… Ummm, nacho chili. i guess, but you get the idea.
My O loves to cook with her mommy in the kitchen and since we got a Easy Bake set I thought this would be a great way to use those cute little cookie cutter. I think I was more excited then she was about how they came out. Not only was it my first time frying them up but it was the best I ever ate… or just as good as the restaurant.
You know how you first eat something fresh like organic fresh shredded coconut, organic carrots (my side salad) or fresh organic cacao brownies (Which I’ll share the recipe in another post), just to name a few. Then you never go back to the store made kinds. Well that is how these nachos taste. Fresh, warm, crisp, crunchy, and yummy organic nacho chips that are HEART shaped. What more can I say then try it…. you “will never go back.”
Well hope your enjoying the first Spring Friday.
Crab sign at the fisherman’s wharf
So every once and a while we take a family walk, except I can’t do much walking because of foot surgery. Therefore I do more sight seeing instead. (Miss my long walks and morning jogs.) I do love to soak in the night Light though… hehehe. But really I always feel better when I’m near water. I don’t know if it’s because of my cancer sign or because I grew up in the tropics. Which ever it is I’m all SMILES!! What small things make you smile?
After we took O on the carousel, which she loves. We grabbed some saltwater taffy, and walked by the seals. I thought they would be asleep but the land seals, tourist or could of been locals, calling out for a mate. I mean, it was literally back and forth barking. Hahaha… you just had to be there. Well, hope your having a good Sunday! Take it easy, God is Love!
Hope your enjoying your Friday or Saturday, if your on New Zealand and Apia time. All in all, it’s always a HAPPY time because it’s the end of the week. Time to relax with the family or friends and just let go of all the stress of the week. At least until we start it up again next week. Hehehe!
So I wanted to show another version of the recycled sweater beanie. This is from the same piece that I used for my slouchy beanie. I would say that I was pleasantly surprise how many beanies I was able to make with one sweater. My sweater that I used was a large sweater and I got 4 beanies, 1 slouchy beanie, about 10 bows, 5 rosettes, and enough for a pair of mittens.
This beanie, that O is wearing in the picture below, is one of my favorite. The sweater beanie is slightly bigger but it covers her ears and neck from the cold. There is just something about bows, polka dots, and chocolate desserts that I just can’t resist. “inject smiles” :0) :0)
Okay we’ve got more things to do before I can call it a day. Until next time!
Here is a view of some red lanterns in union square…
